Siemens T&D – Powering Up with MEDUSA4 & MEDInfo

“All of our users are very happy with the migration to MEDUSA4 and MEDInfo, and with CSG’s ability to implement and support additional functionality. I am also keen to point out the first rate partnership with Pierre Crabbe and CAD Schroer France, whose consultants worked hard and were very responsive. We now have a professional, flexible, centralised and fully supported drafting and data management system, ideal for our unique processes and QA requirements.”
Stéphane Morel, Siemens T&D Business Applications Manager

Smart Drafting – the New Way to Create Geometry

The new smart drafting facility in MEDUSA4 ADVANCED™ provides the means to quickly and easily generate geometry without the need for construction lines prior to drawing. The Smart Drafting Tool allows construction lines to be automatically inferred between points created and displays them dynamically as the cursor moves inside the drawing area.

Demo Video
2D to 3D Factory Layout

Watch how to build complete 3D plants, like this manufacturing facility, directly from a 2D layout – with 2D symbols representing existing 3D model files. Other structures can be created ad hoc within FACTORY LAYOUT. MPDS4 FACTORY LAYOUT provides the fastest way from large industrial layouts to 3D visualisations - with your existing 3D models!

Question & Answer
Q&A: Your Design Questions Answered

Question:
Our design office currently has to maintain an old SUN workstation to manage wiring diagrams with Nfig symbols created with CADDS 5. Is it possible to import these and manage them with MEDUSA4 ?

Answer:
Yes, CSG's consultants can deploy an optimised conversion path for MEDUSA4 which allows you to retain the intelligence in designs created with CADDS 5. We can convert each Nfig into a MEDUSA4 group and ensure that it carries the same name as the original element.

Question:
Can we also retain the intelligence of existing symbols and modify them in MEDUSA4, as well as creating parts lists from components on existing designs?

Answer:
Yes, CAD Schroer’s consultants can work with you to implement the processes best suited to replacing your original Nfig groups with new MEDUSA4 library elements with intelligent symbols. These intelligent symbols are automatically inserted into a cable at the selected connection points. You can then extract all the intelligence built into your original CADDS 5 wiring diagrams for your parts lists.
